Decision making: How to make smart and perfect choices on your own?

How to make right choices
Life is full of choices. We got plenty of options in everything to decide ranging from a small pencil to a gigantic plane. But, is life better when we have more choices? It's up to us to make the right choices. However, there's always a bad choice waiting for us in the corner to take it and get ready to be dumped. It is decisive to make the right choices in life to prosper. I cannot emphasize more on how important good decisions are to your life. You know it very well.

How often do you regret your own choices? If you say most often I feel like it, don't worry ! this article is for you. Taking sensible decisions at the right moment is a very important skill everyone should master.

Let's learn how you can make smart and perfect decisions on your own with this 5 step guide.

Identify all the options you have:

Identify all your choices
The prevalent mistake most people do is that they don't consider all the options they have. They take into account only the choices they know. By this, you're missing out on all the other choices you aren't aware of. Make research and note down all the alternatives available.
For example, if you want to earn money, don't just go with conventional ways like a job or a business, brainstorm out of the box and think of ways like trading, investments, freelancing, etc. Who knows the choices you weren't aware of might be the ones that can change your life drastically.

Analyze each and every choice:

Analyze every choice
We are always one decision away from a whole different path. So, Why take them prematurely? Take some time to delve into each and every choice and understand the pros and cons of each choice. Weigh advantages against disadvantages and see if that choice is worth taking. Analyze every minor detail that can have an impact. You can easily eliminate some of the choices in this step.

Take valuable feedback:

Take feedback
Experience is the best teacher. What makes a piece of advice better than that comes from an experienced person. Talk to people who have pursued different choices in your watchlist and take their feedback. Listen to them but don't just follow them blindly.  People give suggestions based on their point of view, they don't understand what's best for you. So, analyze what they say and take the good part that's useful with you. After you're done with feedback, analyze and get rid of bad choices.
I personally contact a lot of people before making any big decision in my life and I myself decide what's best for me at the end. For example: If it's an education-related decision, talk to seniors and professors on LinkedIn. Use social media to your leverage.

Don't let your emotions cloud your judgment:

Don't let emotions cloud judgement
Most often people take hasty decisions driven by their emotions and regret at the end. Emotional judgments are more often the crummy ones. Emotions are momentary but the effect of that decision is permanent. Stop making crucial decisions with transitory emotions. Take important decisions only when you're calm and your mind is straight.

Introspect and make the final decision:
When you've successfully completed the above four steps, you're now left with few better choices and almost reached the end to make your final decision. But, wait! don't just go with it straight away. Introspect your final decision and think if it is the right choice out of all the options once again and then decide.

Woah, Congratulations! You did it.

I personally used all of the above 5 steps in making important decisions in my life. Most of them turned out to be fruitful for me when I decided what I want on my own. I hope they will be useful for you too.

Thank you for reading and don't forget you're awesome.✌
